Nathan was commissioned by Daniel Robinson, the drummer of the acclaimed blues and jazz band Backlash, to produce a short EP or album for his band. Initially, the band had planned to include four tracks that would showcase their unique musical style.

 

Nathan, embraced this opportunity, demonstrating remarkable resilience and leadership throughout the recording process. He adeptly managed the challenges posed by the band's preference for recording complex time signatures without a click track, which initially caused synchronisation issues. Nathan's strategic approach and organisational skills were crucial in maintaining studio efficiency and ensuring precise timing.

 

Despite the hurdles, Nathan made the executive decision to focus on the strongest material, omitting two tracks due to their inadequacies, and dedicating himself to producing a coherent and polished album. This project tested Nathan's creative and technical limits, ultimately resulting in a final product that surpassed the band's expectations and solidified Nathan's reputation as a skilled and adaptable producer.
